Intervening in the Clustered ID with the SR on Indigenous Peoples and EMRIP at the 27th Session of the UN Human Rights Council on 17th September 2014, Sri Lanka said the Government had implemented many projects aimed at protecting and promoting the heritage of indigenous people, and has taken several measures to help indigenous people to continue with their traditional lifestyle, ensure their rights and to safeguard and preserve their culture.
