Ambassador & Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva His Excellency RGS Wijesekara participated at an event organised by the Sri Lanka Association in Geneva (SLAG) under the food hygiene and quality control conducted by Mr. Deepal Samarakoon, Manager, Sri Lanka Catering on 02 June 2024. During the event Ambassador discussed on the areas of future cooperation with the Sri Lanka Association in Geneva.
The interaction was aimed at creating awareness on this importance subject, if Sri Lankan hospitality is to become visible and competitive in the Switzerland and at international level.
In his presentation to the Association members, Ambassador Wijesekara further highlighted the important role the Sri Lankan diaspora could play in fostering connections with Sri Lanka and the potential avenues for future development.
This event underscores the ongoing collaboration between the Permanent Mission and the Sri Lanka Association in Geneva. It also served as a platform to discuss and explore opportunities to create linkages through hospitality between Sri Lanka and Switzerland.
