RENEWAL OF DRIVING LICENSE FOR SRI LANKANS LIVING ABROAD

 

Required documents:

Renewal of Driving License

  1. Duly filled MTA 30/2 Application Form (Original) (Can be obtained at this Consulate)
  2. Current Driving License issued by the Department of Motor Traffic of Sri Lanka
  3. Medical Certificate (Must include eyesight, height, weight, hearing and the blood group of the applicant)
  4. Valid passport
  5. Valid visa
  6. National Identity card (it is not mandatory in case the NIC number is included in the passport)
  7. Two black and white passport size photographs
  8. Certified copy of the receipt of payment made to this Consulate (CHF 110.00+ late fee of CHF 10.00 per annum)

Duplicate of Driving License

  1. Duly filled MTA 30/2 Application Form (Original) (Can be obtained at this Consulate)
  2. Copy of complaint made to the police station of the applicant’s resident city or the driving license that is deformed or blurred
  3. Valid passport
  4. Valid visa
  5. National Identity card (it is not mandatory in case the NIC number is included in the passport)
  6. It is mandatory to mention the Driving license number or NIC number to trace back details in the system
  7. Two black and white passport size photographs
  8. Certified copy of the receipt of payment made to this Consulate (CHF 110.00)

Change of Personal Details of a Driving License

  1. Duly filled MTA 30/2 Application Form (Original) (Can be obtained at this Consulate)
  2. Current Driving License issued by the Department of Motor Traffic of Sri Lanka
  3. Medical Certificate (Must include eyesight, height, weight, hearing and the blood group of the applicant)
  4. Valid passport
  5. Valid visa
  6. Supporting documents relating to the changes to be made
  7. Two black and white passport size photographs
  8. Certified copy of the receipt of payment made to this Consulate (CHF 110.00)

 

Due to following discrepancies your application might get rejected at the point of scanning by the Department of Motor Traffic, Colombo - Sri Lanka:

  • o Incomplete application/lack of supporting documents
  • o Using a photocopied application
  • o Application filled by using other than black colour pen (use only black colour pen)
  • o Anything drafted out of scanning area
  • o Coloured/incorrect size photograph (Black & white photograph, only 35 mm x 45 mm)
  • o Fingerprint kept by using general purpose inkpad

The applicant should make an appointment and should personally visit this Consulate.
